Dr. Betty YOUNG is an experienced specialist in respiratory medicine and a healthcare administrator with extensive expertise in both clinical services and healthcare management. She graduated from the Faculty of Medicine of The University of Hong Kong in 1998 with a Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery degree, and obtained her specialist qualification in respiratory medicine in 2006.

In terms of professional development, Dr. YOUNG has served as a Consultant in the Department of Medicine and Rehabilitation at Tung Wah Eastern Hospital since 2017. From 2022 to 2024, she was served as Head of Department, where she led her team in enhancing the quality of clinical services and driving departmental development. Alongside her clinical duties, she holds concurrent appointments as Director of the hospital’s Quality and Safety Office and as Infection Control Officer. In these capacities, she plays a pivotal role in formulating hospital quality management policies and strengthening infection control measures, contributing significantly to patient safety and the enhancement of healthcare service standards.

Dr. YOUNG is currently a Board member of the Pneumoconiosis Compensation Fund Board, where she also serves as Chairperson of the Board’s Committee on Research and as a member of its Committee on Rehabilitation. She is committed to advancing medical research and improving rehabilitation services for patients. In addition, she serves as Honorary Medical Adviser to The Junior Police Officers’ Association of The Hong Kong Police Force, providing professional medical support to disciplined services staff.

Professionally, Dr. YOUNG has a particular focus on pulmonary rehabilitation and sleep medicine. Her research findings have been presented at various international medical conferences. With her extensive clinical experience, professional management capabilities, and unwavering pursuit of healthcare quality, she continues to contribute to the advancement of respiratory disease treatment and the quality of healthcare services, fully demonstrating her dedication and commitment to the medical profession.

Prof. CHEN Hao is an Assistant Professor at the Department of Computer Science and Engineering (CSE), Chemical and Biological Engineering (CBE) and The Division of Life Science, The Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (HKUST). He leads the SmartX Lab focusing on large and trustworthy AI for healthcare. He serves as Director of Collaboration Center for Medical and Engineering Innovation, HKUST. He received the Ph.D. degree from The Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK) in 2017. His research interests include medical large models, computational pathology, multimodal data fusion, medical image analysis, and computer-assisted micro- and minimally invasive diagnosis and treatment. He has 100+ publications (Google Scholar Citations 47 500, h-index 95) in Nature Biomedical Engineering, Nature Machine Intelligence, CVPR, etc. He has been consecutively listed among Clarivate’s Highly Cited Researchers worldwide and Stanford University’s list of the top 2% of scientists globally, among others. He also has rich industrial research experience and holds a dozen of patents in AI and medical image analysis. He received several premium awards such as Asian Young Scientist Fellowship, Medical Image Computing and Computer Assisted Intervention (MICCAI) Young Scientist Impact Award 2023, and has received the Second Prize of the National Ministry of Education Outstanding Achievement Award as well as the First Prize of the Beijing Science and Technology Progress Award. Prof. TAM Hon-lon is a Research Assistant Professor at the Nethersole School of Nursing, the Chinese University of Hong Kong. He earned his Doctor of Philosophy in Nursing from The Hong Kong Polytechnic University in 2022. Prof. TAM is dedicated to academic research in healthy lifestyle promotion and healthy aging, with a core focus on developing innovative interventions, particularly those integrating technology and multidisciplinary educational programmes, to enhance overall health outcomes.

As an early-career scholar, Prof. TAM has published over 40 articles in internationally peer-reviewed journals, including MC Nursing, JMIR mHealth and uHealth, and Alzheimer’s Research & Therapy. His academic contributions have earned global recognition. In 2025, he received the Springer Nature Outstanding Editor Award and was elected as a Fellow of the Royal Society for Public Health (UK).

Over the past three years, his research projects have secured funding from the University Grants Committee's General Research Fund (GRF), the Health Bureau’s Health and Medical Research Fund (HMRF), and the Pneumoconiosis Compensation Fund Board. By enhancing the psychological well-being of community-dwelling older adults and patients with pneumoconiosis while fostering healthy lifestyle habits, his research provides vital academic contributions that drive forward public health practices.

Ms. Becky NG is a registered nurse, registered dietitian, with master degree of public health (Nutrition)-USA. She currently serves as the manager of the Lifestyle Management Center and Wellness Center of Hong Kong Adventist Hospital - Tsuen Wan. She has coordinated the Comprehensive Community Rehabilitation Programme, facilitating multidisciplinary rehabilitation services for PCFB patients since 2016. In the past 35 years, she is committed in organising different lifestyle management programmes, namely healthy cooking & nutrition, smoking cessation, stress management, weight management, non-communicable diseases group education, emotion health and live-in lifestyle modification programme. She will continue be aligned with the hospital mission and passion for excellence, a spirit of Christian service and a commitment to whole-person healing.

Ms. Joyce MA obtained a physiotherapy bachelor degree at the Hong Kong Polytechnic University in 2002. She then further obtained a master degree in physiotherapy at the University of Queensland, Australia in 2007. She had been working in several public and private hospitals in Hong Kong. She had 24 years of extensive clinical experience in various fields of rehabilitation.

Dr. LAI King-kwong trained as an emergency medicine specialist in early 1980s before transitioning his career toward healthcare management. In the early 1990s, he was promoted to Assistant Director of the Hospital Services Department. He subsequently served as the Superintendent of three hospitals under the Hospital Authority, accumulating extensive experience in the planning and commissioning of a Chinese Medicine Hospital, Western Medicine Hospitals, and residential elderly care facilities. Dr. LAI currently serves as the Head of Primary and Community Health Division at HKYWCA, where he leads a multidisciplinary team dedicated to promoting lifestyle medicine and medical-social collaboration.

Dr. Winson YEUNG is the Principal Consultant of the Occupational Safety and Health Council. He is an experienced safety and health professional of over 30 years in helping organisations to develop Occupational Health and Safety (OSH) management system and conduct safety audits. Dr. YEUNG also works closely with various sectors to provide OSH consultancy services and conduct in-house safety trainings and OSH research studies. He is responsible for managing the “Independent Safety Audit Scheme” and the “Surprise Safety Inspection Scheme” of the Hong Kong Housing Authority and the Housing Society’s work projects. He also monitors the development of the “Hong Kong Safety and Health Certification Scheme” and the “OSH Enhancement Schemes for SMEs”.

Dr. YEUNG is a Chartered Member of the Institution of Occupational Safety & Health (IOSH) in United Kingdom, a Member of the International Commission on Occupational Health (ICOH) and the American Conference of Governmental Industrial Hygienists (ACGIH). In addition, Dr. YEUNG is a Registered Safety Officer and a Registered Safety Auditor in Hong Kong.

Mr. Kay CHAN is a Safety Officer of CRBC – Build King Joint Venture and a holder of the Registered Electrical Worker (REW) Licence in Hong Kong. He is responsible for occupational safety and health management for MTRC Contract 1500 – Tuen Mun South Extension.

Believing that innovation transforms theory into practical solutions, Mr. CHAN actively integrates engineering knowledge, occupational health principles and Smart Site technologies into construction management.

He has led the implementation of a 24-hour real-time dust monitoring system, automatic water spraying facilities, wire saw cutting technology and remote-controlled hydraulic demolition robots to minimise dust generation and workers' exposure to respirable dust. He also promotes occupational health through pneumoconiosis prevention seminars, on-site medical screening programmes with the Construction Industry Council (CIC) and healthcare organisation, and demonstrations on the proper use of respiratory protective equipment.

Mr. MA Sze-kit is currently a Project Safety Manager at China Road and Bridge Corporation. Having joined the construction industry in 2010, Mr. MA possesses extensive hands-on site experience in occupational safety and health management. He holds a Master of Science in Safety, Health and Environment from the University of Greenwich and is a Registered Safety Officer, Registered Safety Auditor, a Chartered Member of the Institution of Occupational Safety and Health (CMIOSH) and a Professional Member (Safety) of the Hong Kong Occupational Safety and Health Association.

Since joining China Road and Bridge Corporation in July 2013, Mr. MA has progressively advanced from Safety Officer to Senior Safety Officer, and was appointed Project Safety Manager in 2022. Over the years, he has played a pivotal role in managing safety for several major landmark infrastructure contracts in Hong Kong, including the Yuen Long South First Phase Development Site Formation and Infrastructure Works (Contract 3), Tseung Kwan O Cross Bay Link Main Bridge and Associated Works, and Kai Tak Development Infrastructure Works at the Former Runway South.

A strong advocate for innovation and continuous improvement in site safety, Mr. MA has successfully implemented comprehensive safety management plans that significantly reduce site accident rates. He has spearheaded various inventive safety initiatives. Mr. MA firmly believes that safeguarding worker safety is fundamental to ensuring project quality and smooth operational progress. He remains dedicated to raising public awareness of construction safety and advocating for a safer, greener, and smarter infrastructure development environment.
